German saber of the m/1852 type for cavalry. Probably privately purchased, the nickel plating on the mount with a lot of loss/damage in general, the saber is in fairly good working condition. Profusely engraved blade with the text "Zur erinnerung an meine dienstseit" and on the opposite side "Garde train bataillon" scabbard in blackened steel without damage or dents (€265/$290)
